It’s an Attitude
In the first year that Zitromat started up, we developed together with the editor, a monothematic culture magazine for the international market. Ambitious topics concerning art, politics and urbanism are linked to sophisticated design.

Due to the publishing companies’ financial independence and the open and receptive market we were able to engage with the medium in an experimental way. The topic of the first issue – “Constant Change” – became the motto of the entire series. With some of the issues we abandoned the classic format of a bound magazine and designed a folder (issue no. 3), a hardcover book (issue no. 5) and a collection of posters (issue no. 7). Topics such as “Laboratory of the Future”, “Home”, “Discoverer” or “Time” are recurring themes in texts, images, design and production. From one issue to the next, we playfully developed fonts and illustrations, experimented with new design approaches and print techniques which visually supported the different topics. In no time at all, the magazine gained edition status and has since become a coveted collector’s item. Besides a small team, international artists, freelance writers, photographers and stylists contributed to the magazine.
